Dover, VT: Renovation and expansion of Inn and Restaurant
Trinity Engineering played a key role in the renovation and expansion of the Hermitage Inn in Dover, VT. Trinity was initially called in to evaluate the existing potable water supply in order to determine if it was suitable water supply. It quickly became apparent that a Master Plan was required in order to address the future plans. Trinity developed a plan to install a new Transient Non-Community Water Supply and handled the siting, permitting, construction and testing of the TNC source. Trinity performed the source location, design and testing, as well as, the water system design, testing and startup.
The existing wastewater system also needed attention and after evaluating the options for an on site wastewater system, a municipal connection to the Cold Brook Fire District was engineered and installed. Throughout the renovation and expansion we handled multiple Act 250 Land Use Permit Amendments, some as Minor Amendments, some as Administrative Amendments. Trinity also provided engineering and permitting services for the renovations to the Hermitage Inn as a Planned Unit Development before the Dover Development Review Board (DRB) and all related Wetland permitting issues.
Trinity also handled some of the later stage developments including permitting of the ski lift connecting the Hermitage Inn to Haystack Mountain, various wetlands permitting issues and coordination with the VT Land Trust on conservation easement issues for adjacent parcels.
